MOJO 291

Okay, my MOJO showed up a date late, But loved this sketch so used some My Mind's Eye design papers on it and pulled out a great sentiment from my Verve collection. That old buckaroo blue is coordinating well with this dp. I used copic matkers to color the flower and the bow is made with seam binding.

COF April Challenge

Here is the challenge for this month:

I spent my childhood being called April Showers or even April Flowers.....hence my email address of aflowers.... It would probably be called bullying nowadays, but I seemed to take it all in stride. Because of this moniker, I wanted to highlight a verse which is about Spring. I think this one is apropos!

Leviticus 26:4 - Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

Although my verse does not say flowers explicitly, a plant must flowers before it bears fruit. I would love your card this month to show off flower --- stamps, die cuts, crocheted, etc! {If you want, you can add rain, but that isn't a necessity.}

Have fun with this verse and the glorious Spring Season!

We have been having the much needed rain that we have been needing and it has certainly increased the yield of the nature around us.

My stamp I used is from Flourishes, which is my favorite of all places to buy any floral stamps. The border punch is from Martha Stewart and the sentiment is from Verve.

Hope the Lord is reigning over your life, and the fruit you are producing are abundant for His kingdom.

C4C 183

The challenge for Crazy for Challenges is to make a baby card.
I had fun with this little onsie from Flourishes. I stamped it three times and then paper pieced it together. This stamp is so perfect for my favorite technique of paper piecing. I free-handed the sentiment. The design papers are from My Mind's Eye and the cardstock is River Rock and Buckaroo blue.

JUGS186

Inspired by the colors and the brocade in this inspiration piece for Just Us Girls challenge #186. The ink bottle and pen is from Stampability. The flowers are from Flourishes. I freehanded the sentiment. I rubbed a pink pad over the black and white brocade design paper.

In the kitchen - CCEE1317

I made this card for the CCEE challenge this week--In the kitchen. I don't have many stamps that are items that belong in the kitchen. I guess it's not my favorite room, do you think? I did have these teapots from Paper Trey Ink. The purple cardstock was embossed with a rose pattern and I cut a piece of an embossed lacy paper to make a doily. So if you spend too much time in the kitchen, take some tea time and sit down and relax with a cup!!! Happy Weekend everyone!

Pastels

This baby card done in pastels is for the Color Throwdown Challenge this week which included celery, barely banana, pretty in pink, and blush blossom. Since I needed a few baby cards I thought these colors were perfect for one. The sketch is from this weeks sketch for the Freshly Made Sketch Challenge #83.  I haven't had as much time for stamping this week, so I did some combining of challenges, which I don't usually do too much. The banana background was embossed as was the blush strip. The onsie stamp is from Flourishes and is paper pieced from a piece of Basic Grey design paper. The bottom mat is actually the cover of one of my Basic Grey design pads front that shows the samplings of the papers in the pad. Thought it would be great to recycle it rather just throw it away.

FTTC217 wedding bliss

The theme of the FTTC challenge this week is a wedding card. I love embossed white or ivory paper because it just looks so elegant. I added some pretty lace trim and a glittered design paper for the matting for the image piece. These cherry blossoms from Flourishes are one of my favorite of their stamps. I used copic markers for the coloring.

JUGS 184 - Ombre technique

This was fun to do for the Ombre challenge over on Just Us Girls Challenge this week. I embossed the white cardstock with one of my new embossing folders from Sizzix and then with a pretty in pink pad I rubbed it over the top portion of my embossing, then I used a regal rose pad for the middle section, and a red riding hood pad for the bottom. The ribbon was red and white stripped, so I colored some of the stripes with a pink copic marker. The sentiment is from Verve.

C4C181

The challenge  for the Crazy for challenge this week was to use a wooden accent. This is some wooden holly leaves and berries. Christmas embellishments were all I had that were made of wood. So, here's my first Christmas card for the 2013 Christmas season. Way ahead of the game. I used two embossing borders for this design. The sentiment is from MFP.

ODBDSL149

This is a card for the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining Light Challenge to make a card that is not square or rectangle shaped. So here is a try a triangular one. The fold is on the lacy edge. The stamps are from Our Daily Bread Designs.

CBC167 and QFTD160

I am using this card in two challenges. One is the Creative Bellie Challenge to use pastels. They also request you use some of those stored up embellishments that haven't been used in a while. I used some gold micro beads for the centers of the flowers. I am also using this for the Queen For The Day challenge over on Splitcoaststampers honoring Queen Bonnie! I cased a card of hers and made a few changes to it. On her card she had used this stamp from Stampin' Up and stamped it three times across her card as well. I liked the layout so I did mine similarly. The embossing folder I used is from Sizzix.

I can't believe the week has passed so fast. Have a great weekend.

WAW75

Always love to check out the scripture for Word Art Wednesday. Love this from Jeremiah and wanted to keep it simple. Powerful words that need to be digested and taken to heart. The silhouette stamp is from Stampabilities. I sponged the colors using the negative part of a diecut circle.

MOJO Monday 288

Okay I am late about getting my mojo this week. It took me until Wednesday to get this card done. I used kraft paper and black cardstock, some fabulous Graphics 45 design paper, and this great set from Verve for my card. I added a rhinestone cross and little diamonds as my only embellishments. Sympathy cards are always the toughest to make. I decided to make a few to have on hand, as it is so tough to make them when you need them.

TLC424 and CCC #88

I am using this card for two challenges. The challenge for the Technique Lover's Challenge over on SCS was to use movement in your card, so I made this a slider card. The challenge over on Crafty Cardmakers was to make a humorous card. The inside of this card says: "He's lost and won't stop and ask for directions."  I know a few single ladies who I could send this to. The stamps are from Skipping Stone Designs. This is a slider card and the frog moves up and down on the card.

Double the challenge Double the fun

This card is for the CAS challenge 215 for this week as well as the CAS=ual Friday Challenge #97. The CAS challenge was to use turquoise, pink, and celery. The CFC challenge was to use a chevron pattern and flowers. My chevron pattern is an embossing border from Darice, then I rub a turquoise pad across the embossed protion. It is a little shabby because of the extra ink that is on the white portion of the card. The sentiment is from Sweet and Sassy stamps.

CCEE1314

The CCEE challenge this week is to use winged things. Butterflies are some of my favorite winged things, so I did some multi-layered stamping  for this special card. I masked them and stamped the leaves. I added little mini flowers punched from a Creative Memories punch. I have a friend who needed a birthday card for her very special aunt who is having a birthay this month. She wanted me to make to make her one, so this is it.
The butterflies are from Kitchen Sink Stamps as is the sentiment. The leaves are Stampin' Up.

waw74

For this scripture that is selected for the scripture over at Word Art Wednesday this week, I had to hunt through my angel collection but I found this beautiful one from Layers of Color. There are angels among us and seldom are the invisible. All of us have been touched in some way or another by these saints and servants of the Lord.

FTTC 214

The challenge for Flourishes' Timeless Tuesday Challenge was to double up on the ribbons.I used this lily of the valley stamp from Flourishes to repeat stamp for the design of this card. The edge of the image has a houndstooth pattern to it, so I used that same pattern to emboss the background cardstock.

TLC 423

I had such fun making this card last night. Found some new papers I hadn't used yet and grabbed this pretty zinnia stamp from Flourishes. My friend, Joan had asked us to stamp, mask, sponge, and glitter our card. I masked the zinnias to stamp the last in the background. Then I sponged it while I had it masked. My next favorite thing is coloring with my copic markers, so I used them to color the zinnia image. The seam binding and the button were the final touch. The design papers are from Graphic 45. The glitter is on the vase although it doesn't show up so well in my photograph.

MOJO 287

I stamped a few leaves and a sentiment from Verve on this card. The design papers are from My Mind's Eye. The embossing folder is from Sizzix.
